New Delhi: 5 lakh crore from domestic industries over the subsequent 5 to seven years as per the domestic protection manufacturing promotion coverage. The Ministry of Defense mentioned Monday that it’s planning to purchase valuable military equipment.

Responding to a query in the Rajya Sabha, Defense Minister of State Ajay Bhatt mentioned the projected figures for military equipment to be bought from domestic sources.

The Ministry of Defense introduced in August 2020 that India would cease importing 101 weapons and transport plane, gentle struggle helicopters, standard submarines, cruise missiles and sonar techniques.

In May final 12 months, a second checklist of import restrictions on protection techniques similar to 108 military weapons and the subsequent era of Corvettes, airborne early warning techniques, tank engines and radars was issued.

In December, the ministry launched a listing of 2,500 objects developed domestically. By December 2024, a listing of 351 equipment to be developed inside the nation has been launched. The Minister proposed the checklist of such devices and the priorities of the authorities.
