Goa govt to request Centre to hand over Sonali Phogat case to CBI: CM Sawant

Panaji: The Goa authorities will write to the Union Home Ministry, requesting that the case of BJP chief Sonali Phogat’s demise be handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant stated on Monday.

Phogat (43), the BJP chief from Hisar in Haryana, died in Goa final month and her demise is being handled as a case of homicide.

Sawant instructed reporters in Panaji that the Goa Police have performed a “tremendously good investigation” into the case and have additionally received some clues.

“But due to the demand of individuals from Haryana and in addition Sonali Phogat’s daughter, we now have determined to write to the Union Home Ministry to hand over this case to the CBI,” Sawant stated.

“I’ll personally write a letter to the Union Home Ministry,” he stated.

The Goa Police had arrested 5 folks, together with two of Phogat’s aides, in reference to the case.

The police have booked her two aides on the cost of homicide.
