Letter of Congress to the President for the implementation of Article 355 in West Bengal, Congress chief Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury has written to the President of India requesting the implementation of Article 355 in West Bengal.

Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury has appealed for the implementation of Article 355 in West Bengal to be certain that the Government complies with the provisions of the Constitution. Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary cited the post-election violence and the burning of eight individuals in Birbhum district, alleging that the legislation and order state of affairs in the state has collapsed.

There have been 26 political killings in West Bengal final month. In a letter to the President, the Congress stated that post-election violence had taken many lives in West Bengal and the total state was dealing with concern and violence.

Article 355 states that “it is the central government’s duty to protect the state from external aggression and internal disturbances to ensure that every state acts in accordance with the constitution’s wishes.”
