  • Coriander Seeds / Muulu Malli – ¾ cup
  • Normal Dried Red Chilli – 20
  • Kashmiri Dried Red Chilli – 20
  • Toor Dal / Tuvaram Paruppu – ¼ cup
  • Urad Dal / Ulundu Paruppu – ¼ cup
  • Whole Pepper – 2 tbsp
  • Cumin Seeds / Jeerakam – 1 tbsp
  • Fenugreek Seeds / Methi / Vendayam – 1.5 tsp
  • Mustard Seeds / Kaduku – 1 tbsp
  • Oil – ½ tsp + ½ tsp

How to make Vathal Kuzhambu Podi

  1. Heat ½ tsp oil in a heavy backside kadai. Add in all of the elements besides dry purple chilli and saute for 10 minutes on medium warmth until the whole lot is properly toasted.
  2. Remove it to a plate and let it calm down.
  3. Now in the identical kadai. Add the remaining ½ tsp oil and fry the chillies for five minutes until it’s golden. Remove it to the identical plate and let it cool utterly.
  4. Now first take chillies in a blender and powder them coarsely. Then add the roasted spices and grind them to a tremendous powder.
  5. Remove that to a plate and let the powder cool.
